This past April 6th, we had our first field outing to the cooperative, "The Nueva Era Xinka" located in aldea Jumaytepeque, Nueva Santa Rosa.

This visit included presentations from the authorities of the community as well as that of the Association of Women in Coffee Guatemala and the Women's Association of the community. The members of the association also went to visit a parcel of one of the women in the community which was very affected by the coffee rust.

The board of directors of the women in the Xinka community presented their concerns about their affected crops and are hoping to be able to work hand in hand with the Women in Coffee Guatemala Association to be able to make significant changes for the female farmers and their families.
